CONGRATULATIONS JAPHETA PENDA SHAPOPI !!!

The International Training College-Lingua (ITCL) congratulates its former student, Japheta Penda Shapopi, for having recently bagged a Master of Science degree in Information Technology with the University of Liverpool.

Shapopi, who began his studies with the University of Liverpool in 2018 through online studies, was conferred with his degree on the 23rd July 2021.

In 2007, Shapopi initially embarked on his academia journey with a certificate in Information Technology at ITCL. Towards the end of the second year, 2008, he unfortunately could not take his final examination, he had to put his studies on hold and leave for military training with the Namibian Defence  Force (NDF). Interestingly, this did not deter him from chasing his major goal (studies). He returned to the college to clear off the remaining modules, earning himself a Diploma in Information Technology in the year 2010.

Shapopi, also holds a Bachelor degree in Information Technology.

In 2014, the industrious Shapopi, joined Paratus Africa as a Network Engineer and in 2017 he stretched his wings to join Dimension Data Namibia as a Managed Services Network & Security Engineer, a position he holds to date.

Shapopi urges ITCL students not to give up on their dreams. “Students need to have a focus that should be defined individually. Take note that success does not come on a silver platter. You should be willing to work hard through thick and thin to realise your dream.” He concludes that, “things may not always turn out as initially planned, but that should not discourage you from achieving your goals. You have to try and try again until you succeed.”
